Can you repair a damaged Kitchen worktop?

Hello everyone, welcome to my newest blog on ‘Can you repair a damaged kitchen worktop? I hope you find it as interesting as I found researching it.

The answer is yes, depending on the extent of the damage. Art of clean would recommend pictures and a free-of-charge quote so we can give you the correct pricing, and so if you would like to see some of our recent before and after photos or some older work we have done, go to the section headed ‘here’s some we did earlier.

So, can your repair a damaged kitchen worktop is a question we often get asked, believe it or not. Why? Because solid wood kitchen worktops have become increasingly popular over the past year or so with their genuinely stunning look, making them a fabulous feature in any home. However, if they are neglected or cleaned with incorrect products, they can soon become an eye sore.

Why get a professional?

Replacing kitchen worktops will be a huge, messy task!

Please don’t get caught up in the idea that it’s a quick and easy way to refresh your kitchen that ALL D.I.Y blogs will say… I know… I’ve read them all “Change your kitchen worktop yourself. It is the simplest way to upgrade your kitchen and make it look stunning!

In reality, this generally results in the splashback tiles coming loose. Tiles are fitted over the worktop, making it nearly impossible to get the worktop out without causing some disruption.

They fix your sinks into place usually. They plumb them in and seal them with silicone; removing them without damaging the sink or the oven hob is a complex and time-consuming task.

Worktops in themselves aren’t cheap, either. I had a look around and found some websites, which I will link below for you to have a look at:

Wickes worktops, click here.

Travis Perkins worktops, click here.

Dream Doors worktops, click here.

No need for other contractors. i.e. Tilers, electricians, Plumber etc.

What will it cost?

Art of clean does offer a kitchen worktop restoration and refinishing service. We can revive and refresh your solid wood kitchen worktop surfaces without needing a replacement, saving you both money and time. And our minimum charge for a whole day would be £800.

I know! Amazing…

And for some, it may be a little expensive in the current climate, but we can save you more than you think. If you check out the worktop prices in the section headed ‘Why get a professional?’ and then look into what it will cost you to have the walls retiled, sink plumbed back in and how much could go wrong,  it isn’t as much as you think.

What does that include?

From start to finish of the job, you come first.

The first thing that will happen is an online request for a quote or a call to one of our amazing admin ladies, so they can arrange a quote day that suits you.

We will send a cost to suit your requirements for you to approve so we can arrange a date that suits you for the work to begin.

  • Like when we restore a wood floor, they will clean the area and prepare it for sanding.
  • One of our fully trained technicians will then sand your investment carefully. Unlike wood floor restoration, they will use hand tools and the correct grit size required for the job.
  • And then refinished with an oil finish, usually matt on a worktop.

Here are some we did earlier:

I think you will agree they look fantastic!

You can honestly see why people want them.

Without a shadow of a doubt, they are a stunning feature of one of my favourite rooms in the house.

Here are some more we have done in the past.

What do you think?

Can you see yourself entertaining your friends in one of these beautiful kitchens?

Making your family a yummy dinner would be a dream, wouldn’t it?

What does having a beautiful-looking kitchen mean to you?

It means little disruptions to the home, saving your money and time.

And remember no need for other contractors. i.e. Tilers, electricians, Plumber etc.

Original worktop restored for just a fraction of the cost to replace a product like that.

But wooden worktops not only look beautiful, but they also have additional benefits:

  • They are breathable
  • Durable – Hard Wearing
  • Environmentally Friendly – no need for more waste in landfill
  • Antibacterial
  • Natural Properties
