How do you choose the best floor sanding company?

Hey everyone… if you’re new, welcome and if you’re not, welcome back!!

Are you thinking about restoring your wood flooring? Have you looked around and needed help on how to choose the best floor sanding company, as there are so many?

Frustrating, but you want the best company for you, so I’m going to go through all the things you might need to know when you choose a floor sanding company.

I will head each section in bold so you can choose what you want to read. I will add a short video to show how much we love and care for our jobs. Remember to check out the end, where there will be some useful blogs if you’re looking near us.

Before I go too far, isn’t the parquet floor beautiful in the picture above?

What is the best way to choose a floor sanding company?

The best way to choose a floor sanding company is to research and compare. Put these at the top of your list, and don’t rush.

Their experience:

The final look of your floor will be greatly affected by the experience of the floor sanding company you choose. And this is a prominent feature in your home, so you want the final look to be stunning, like these:

Do they have a high online presence:

With how the world being very internet-driven, if they are reputable, will they be online? If you search the company you are looking at, they should appear… all floor sanding companies love before and after pictures. I know I love adding images about our projects! They are stunning, even if I do say so myself!

Reviews:

These will tell you a lot of what you need to know. Most reputable floor sanding companies will have testimonials on their website but check all reviews. One that springs to mind is Google reviews.

Pricing:

I always choose three and get quotes from them, but get as many quotes as you need. There is no harm in you doing your research, and with the cost of living rising, it is probably at the top of your list anyway!

Insurance:

We recommend always choosing a fully–insured floor sanding company. Make this quite high on your list when comparing… you don’t want to have the work done, something goes wrong, and then you find you can’t do anything as they aren’t insured. You will be responsible for the damage to your property if they aren’t insured. Again, most reputable companies will be fully insured; check to be safe.

What type of warranty do they offer?

The contractor with a full warranty can go on your list to compare. Ask them for a copy of their warranty before you even choose them.

What about the dust?

Once they finish, will they clean up? Do they cover things and protect your other investments? Are they using equipment that produces as little dust as possible? Trust me; you want to know!

What type of finishes and stains do they do?

Having a choice will make a difference to you. They should offer lacquer or oil. When they come for a quote, they should go through what finishes will be best for the room you are having done. Having a choice of colours for their customers should be something all floor sanding companies offer. They should also advise on what will look good for the size of the room and lighting (I have added blogs at the bottom about finishes and stains, they are eye-opening).

Eco-Friendly:

Taking care of our environment is commonly at the top of people’s lists now.

Free of charge quote?

Some companies will charge to come out so always ask.

Once you have all the information needed, choosing a floor sanding company will be much easier.

And I can’t stress enough… choose more than one company and research, research, research!

Happy hunting… and if you don’t like hunting, don’t forget to check out my other blogs at the bottom… they may be helpful in your research.
